Dating in Modern Days👫👫💑

Love

Hello everyone this blog post will be a one or two-part blog series it will depend if I cover all the areas of Godly Dating in this modern days. Now I want to let everyone know this post is not written by an experienced dater or married one ; but I have had experiences that I will go into detail later on; so please when you start reading this post go with an open mind.

Dating in modern days have become physical and emotional thing. Adults and teenagers have focused their eyes, heart and mind to relationships and people who bring no fulfillment to their lives. A couple of blog post back I wrote about the Samaritan woman at the well; how Jesus asked for a drink from her and she received a greater blessing after her encounter with the Lord.

One big thing that you have to do before you start dating is look at your relationship with God. Ask yourselves this question; Am I in a place where I can start a relationship that will lead to marriage? Is my heart ready for this next step? Dating is not to be taken lightly; as christian we do not have nor should we want the option of;  I’m going to taste the goods and if I  don’t like it I will leave it. That is not how it works, in the old testament well actually in Genesis 2:18 the Lord said ;

“It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”

Many mistakes that we make when we start dating is that; we do not go with the expectation of finding that helpmate; we start dating because we are pressured by society, family, and even the church. When God created the helpmate for Adam; he did not decide if she is not good for him he will make him another. Adam and Eve they stayed together until one of them died, through being cast out from Eden, Cain murdering his brother Abel and more.

Proverbs 18:22

He who finds a wife finds what is good
    and receives favor from the Lord.

Dating is not bad; however it has become carnal in the world and inside the church. Who does not miss the days when you were courting someone you were not allowed to hold hands, nor kiss or anything improper that could make you sin; those were the good old days. Dating is not learning each others dreams, learning about each other and just enjoying being young without going to the limit of sinning against God and your body and mind too anymore. Sexual relationship have taken the center of relationship; one thing that I see in youth and adults nowadays they are all over each other; there is a saying ” they knead as if they were bakers.” Which is funny for me and at the same time true; the story of Isaac and Rebecca is pretty astonishing because this woman didn’t let her fiance or betrothed see her without her veil.

and asked the servant, “Who is that man in the field coming to meet us?”

“He is my master,” the servant answered. So she took her veil and covered herself.

Fleeing from sexual immorality in a relationship or even in your own personal life it’s hard for the person when it’s all you ever known and you are trying to do it with your own strength and will. In the first book of Corinthians the Apostle Paul tells the church of Corinthians flee from sexual immorality as you are not just sinning against your body but also the Holy Spirit as our bodies are his temple. When a relationship is just sexual the two people involved are transmitting each other spiritual diseases(demons). Having sexual relations would be more than okay if it’s within the covenant of marriage; as it is proclaimed in the book of Genesis;

God blessed them: “Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge! Be responsible for fish in the sea and birds in the air, for every living thing that moves on the face of Earth.”

This he told Adam and Eve. Marriage is a covenant between two people who become one and God( Genesis 2:24). He created you to reproduce and find fulfillment inside the marriage. People have sinned in that area since forever and will continue to if they don’t decide to leave that behind and be a new creature in Christ.

P.S. I will this blog post until here, I will be posting part 2 later in the week. Married and single people do comment down below 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻and let me know your thoughts and suggestion; I would love some feedback💕.I appreciate the love and support from every single one of you. Shalom🌸🌸🌸
