Rooted Trust

But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,

    my glory, and the lifter of my head.

I cried aloud to the Lord,

    and he answered me from his holy hill

Psalm 3:3-4

God Bless all that are reading today’s post, may God bless you today and everyday. May his mercies and favor be upon you, these last few months have been a full of hardships, trials and mourning for many in America and the whole world but we know that God is in control and, even though we do not see it; He is working.

Currently I started reading the book of Psalm and chapter 3 spoke to me. This chapter is written by David during the time his son Absalom tried to overthrow him(ref.2.Sam 15.) ; King David was going through a difficult time, fleeing from his own son and abandoning his kingdom just not to kill his own son due to the rebellion. As we know King David has always been a man who always went to God, no matter what issue came; be it small or big. He was a man after God’s own heart, he recognized his faults and asked for forgiveness; maybe this is why he was always heard by God. But what spoke to me about this chapter was his rooted trust that God would deliver him from all that was going on. In verse 4, he states that he”cried out” which the definition for that in the dictionary is to make a loud sound because of pain, fear, surprise, etc.st that he has the best for you that you’re not alone and, you are in God’s hands.

Can you imagine the amount of pain this man was going through at this time? knowing his son was trying to remove him and most likely kill him to take over his kingdom. To have such a deep-rooted trust in God; knowing what you are going through, what you are suffering but, still believing that God will answer and will deliver and, sustain you in the most difficult times is something that we should aspire to do.Being able to trust and have no fear in the outcome because, you are aware that you’re safe and freed from the hands that oppress you.

I lay down and slept;

    I woke again, for the Lord sustained me.

Psalm 3:5

I don’t know what situation you are going through, to the person who is reading today’s post, you could at this moment be going through a difficult situation but know that God will deliver you and sustain you. The whole world is going through a terrible time at this moment, many lives have been lost; many of us might have lost a loved one due to this sickness or for other reasons and we do not know what to do; we feel overwhelmed but, God is waiting for you to talk to him. Look toward your creator, to the one who has loved you and has known you before you were even created in your mother’s womb, trust that he has the best for you that you’re not alone and, you are in God’s hands.
